20 mm Bracelets: Why They Work and How to Stack Them

Written by the BEADORO studio · Updated September 2026

A good beaded bracelet comes down to four things: bead size, material, fit and how you stack it. This guide answers each one in plain language - from the perspective of a studio that makes exactly one size: 20 mm.

1. Bead size: why 20 mm is the statement sweet spot

2. Material: resin vs glass vs natural stone

Resin (our choice)Waterproof, color-fast, feather-light, will not chip. Best value and best for daily wear.
Coated glassDeeper shine, but coatings can wear; heavier on the wrist.
Natural stoneAuthentic and unique, but heavier, fragile, and typically 3-5x the price for the same look.

Honest take from the studio: all BEADORO beads are resin with stone-look effects - aurora, sunstone, cat-eye, goldstone and bone. If you want the gemstone look for daily wear, modern resin beats natural stone on durability and price. If you are buying for rarity or resale, choose certified natural stone - just not from us.

3. Fit: stretch cord sizing

Measure your wrist with a strip of paper, then add 1-2 cm. Stretch-cord bracelets fit a range, which is why one size (14-19 cm) works for most wrists. If you are between sizes or buying as a gift, stretch is always the safe choice.

4. Stacking: the 3-stack rule

5. Gifting: what sells itself

Every BEADORO order ships in a rigid gift box with a meaning card, so it is ready to hand over. For birthdays and friendship gifts, Rose is the default pick. For anyone "hard to shop for", Aurora - nobody has a color-shifting bracelet already.

Frequently asked

What size bead is best for a statement bracelet?

20 mm is the sweet spot for a statement piece: large enough to read across the room, small enough to stay comfortable. All BEADORO bracelets use 20 mm beads, 12 per strand.

How many bracelets should you stack at once?

Two to three is the sweet spot: one statement piece plus one or two quiet neighbors. More than four looks busy and snags on sleeves.

Are resin beads better than natural stone?

For daily wear, yes: resin is waterproof, lighter, will not chip, and costs far less. Natural stone wins on authenticity and rarity, but it is heavier and fragile.

Do BEADORO bracelets come in other sizes?

No - we deliberately make only 20 mm. Mastering one size lets us keep quality high and prices between $14.90 and $17.90.
